Fresh off the press.
In a world of strong opinions and blame, maybe a little vague for some.
What do you think?

As far as I know © 2023 Vic Arnold

As far as I know, I tried my best
Blinded by uncertainty I took the test
As far as I roamed, I've never seen
a place I needed more than where I've been
And all things considered
I still bathe in the after glow ....
As far as I know.

As far as I love, I loved my wife
even when her words cut through me
like a knife
As far as it seems, she still loves me
although we're not together
like we used to be
But all things considered
it seemed right to let us go ....
As far as I know.

As far as I know
I may know nothing.
It maybe a dream,
but at least it's something,
As far as I know

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I'm in two minds about the whistling esses: they give the song a elder's gravitas but also it can be cutting.

A solid, contemplative narrative carried by a good voice and band.

Cheers

Another wonderful write, Vic. Your lyrics are always so good, so relatable. Good harmony and it really helps build the song. Yeah, many times we accept knowledge as truth --as far as I know. "At least it's something."

Enjoy whatever happens!

"As far as I know". None of us will ever know more in life, I sometimes feel, than that. The singer/character of the song sounds at peace, despite acknowledging that it's all only "as far as he knows". And what more can anyone ask out of life, than that?

Superbly written, beautifully sung, as always. Congratulations.

Hey Vic,

When i first saw your title to this one I thought it was going to be a cover of this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuxEIa_uZHI

That's what's so cool about songwriting... there are so many cool angles to write on the same subject and the exact same title. Well done!

Vic,
Smooth intro and overall easy going ballad. Well written lyrics! Listens very well. Clear mix. Good one.
Thank you for sharing,
Misha.

P.S.There is some strange stuff going with vocals at ~0:20 seconds, like some kind of digital warping. Doesn't happen later into the song.

Hi Ray and thanks for listening.
On my monitors it sounds ok but on an ipad it does accentuate the highs.
I have adjusted the EQ a little now.

Misha. Your ears are probably better than mine as I can't hear the glitch.
Maybe that's a good thing, maybe not. Can you tell me what word or phrase it's on?
I appereciate the comment.
